I doubt you need anymore schooling on how to live in the cold  :)Most of the folks I talk to through the last 10 to 15 years  who bought low end duplex's in major mid western metro areas got KILLED financially.

He'd probably ask you to send it via some wire transfer and have a really good reason why you should western union it to him in Europe (he's traveling for a month or something).The reason you can't find him on the Internet is because he/she comes up with names they've googled themselves to ensure they aren't findable and then when they find one, they use that. 

The difference was this scammer asked my buddy to Western Union a $500 deposit.  

End by making an appointment for the next call and tell them what you will be doing for them in the meantime.Since you are from the Western Slope of Colorado, I could work with you and anyone else from Colorado on this.
