just guessing but it sounds like normal C class activity throughout the US frankly.. older properties that need cap ex.. tough weather environment.. renters that are income challenged . etc etc.Contrary to others I would concentrate on paying one off at a time.. the best way to run C and D class is to have them paid off as soon as possible, you have a good job your young.. if you can get these paid off that would be a goal... or just sell them all and recalibrate into a better ( nicer asset class) that is not so maintenance heavy and better renter class).I also don't think most people after a few years really know how much or how little they make on their rentals..

Regardless of the military aspect, I suggest you investigate low income landlording and deciding if that is a direction you want to go, or concentrate on better neighborhoods.

Having said that I'm concentrating on the positives of retirement....more time to learn and invest and do it right the next time, more time to catch up on projects at the home front, more family time for sure and of course much more play time.
