I was pretty upset about this at the time but it was a lesson learned because I just made assumptions that things would work a certain way and charged into it.

And in some places, rather than saying "max bid" the attorney might say "upset price ".  

My husband and I are pretty upset this happen to a brand new house, and we are very concerned. 

She immediately said no, but because I had built rapport she didn't get upset with me.

It's my perspective that if you need to hire someone else because it's not working out for your business and the relative or friend gets upset about it, they are technically the ones treating the relationship poorly, not you, but I realize I'm probably in the minority.

Lots of people who had their listing expire are upset with prior agent for not communicating or being proactive enough.
