Since most people buying real estate are utterly clueless when it comes to revenue you can't assume you're going to find good space utilization in almost any layout today with their spacious livin, dining and rec rooms, often open concept which is the nail in the coffin when it comes to maximizing space.

It's the same where hedge fund guys living in Greenwich CT makes NYC keep developing. But good thing about tech sector is that although the core company is still located in Bay Area, for cost cutting development they have office all over from Austin, Boston, Seattle and Data Center Ops from Oregon to Arizona.Making data center ops in Bay Area is utterly expensive, they need to move to areas where energy is efficient.

How to combat the growing hatred for Landlords?

Complete and utter idiocy...More than 40% of landlords in Seattle in 2018 sold or were selling their rentals when UW did a study, as a result of more socialist policies that stripped landlords of the right to screen, raise rent or evict bad tenants.

That ended up falling through (after we did a number of additional section 8 required repairs) and my property managers placed a market rate tenant at $1275/mo in Dec 2017.That tenant is still there and the PM is looking to extend their lease again.I'm pretty sure the property will be in utter disrepair when they move out (just a hunch I get when I talk to my PM), so I basically hope they will never leave. My property managers have been the saving grace in this situation (from allowing me to not have to show a property when I was 9 months pregnant to affordably and promptly fixing each and every little thing)So, was this a cash cow?

After a few months, the “renter” stops paying and gets to live there, free to enjoy the utilities that you’re also paying for, and then once this person finally vacates the house will be utterly destroyed.
