I have paid for various books, paid for 3 BP boot camps (MF (DeRosa group), CRE (Tyler Cauble), STR (Averys)), attended conferences and workshops.  

They sometimes charge the seller notary and doc prep fees - especially if you don't plan on attending settlement and do a deed package.

I've only attended Dekalb's auction ... one of the close in metro Atlanta counties.  

I live about two hours from Dallas and agree with Kristin about attending meetups—there are far more opportunities in DFW compared to where I am, which is why I make the trip there for events.I’d also suggest finding a good, investor-friendly real estate agent.

Hi Isaac,The best way is to attend local meetups and connect with people within the community.

They also help point out small things I need to attend to without it being a paid guest complaining.

Joining local real estate investor meetups, networking, and attending REIAs can help.

A friend of mine attended one and found it incredibly helpful..they even walked through actual deals they've closed in the area.Don't overlook online resources either.

REI Central is the most popular meetup, but there are several other that are worth attending as well.
