I know the landlord laws are not as friendly in these areas but I am looking to be close NYC and be near hospitals for travel nurses if I go that route.

I think @Paul Sandhu has it right - there doesn't seem to be any real centralized source for corporate rentals (that I've been able to find, anyway), so you probably need to identify what your target market is (traveling nurses?

I know this works in college towns, and I always thought it could work in certain areas, like military housing, or maybe traveling nurses near a hospital.Could you rent by the month instead of week.

I dread every morning of waking up and not being able to just be an investor and a nurse(my trained professions).

The owner is elderly, now in a nursing home and the granddaughter is managing the sale.

Actually, hitting those up in nursing homes has draw backs, like compentancy, you need to volunteer at the library, the zoo, the humane society, the red cross or the literacy council.
