Right now I'm looking at a deal that is on the other side of the country (West Charlotte, NC just east of the airport) where I have no real market knowledge and very few connections, so I will be an out-of-state investor in need of a great property manager.Dangers to avoid?

Just an idea.You can have 2 cars for real estate.One is a beater that you drive around to look at properties and also in rougher areas that gets good gas mileage.Then you have nicer car for professional business meetings and family outings that you put less miles on so it doesn't depreciate and get worn down as much.I also know the owner of a limo company and he gives me great deals when I want to go on vacation and a drive to the airport or picking up clients to show properties to or going out for a nice dinner etc.

It and the adjacent similar building are slated for demolition in the next few weeks and a high rise apartment building will go up in their place.

I have seen more opportunities for MFs up around the NW area near the airport; I didn't look up that way this trip though. 

My idea (maybe wrongly) is that it will both make "my" buildings more desirable, and put pressure on adjacent building owners to clean them up a bit.

Usually we take off from Reid-Hillview Airport (south west San Jose). 

I flew here out of Coolongatta womens snow boots clearance airport to Kuala Lumpur, for $199, then from there to Paris via Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) for another $300 dollars, then took a train to the coast for less than $AUD 100.

Another option is to refinance your home if you have sufficient equity and since the property is adjacent, you may be able tofinance the whole thing under one loan, if that size of a lot is common for the area.

We landed at the airport late at night and the big buzz was that *almost* 2" of snow had fallen.

The area never has appreciated like the adjacent neighborhoods.
