Account Closed I would second the sentiment that more traditional education will probably not help you with CRE unless it's through connections you make with the instructor or other students.I have an undergrad in Finance and had one class in real estate which was plenty of formal education for me.

I agree many college instructors are not ideal role models for successful entrepreneuring, but the world is changing.

So far for mentors all I have is my Father and old high school instructors (who were originally contractors). 

You must actually take a live class where there is an instructor available; (or go to a real estate office and watch videos) I find I like it better because of the interaction with the Instructor and other students (its been a great way to network with some of them).I did earlier this year take online for my mortgage license and found it difficult to get questions answered right away.

I wish I were able to take the courses online, as the online material is extremely dry and I know an instructor would emphasize the areas to focus on.      

I just got out of a Legacy education class and the instructor brought up the intetesting topic of convenience checks.

There are good instructors out there that are worth paying for.

The instructor knows exactly what is on the test and explicitly tells you "this is 100% on the exam".
