Just budget for it.There is so much free information available, all it takes is your free time to scoop it up and incorporate it into your life plan.Also don't get entangled with someone who doesn't share your vision, or who doesn't give your vision credit when you explain it.

My big 2020 vision is to purchase my first multi-family property (minimum 3 units).

Real estate has just started to clarify my vision of where I’d like our family to end up.

It seems that this is a question that a lot of people on and off this board should be asking themselves as I get the sense that people have this vision that RE is *the* place to make money.

Better safe than sorry.If you handle the installation yourself, and it's not particularly difficult, the cost will run you under $400 for an 8-camera set of wired cameras with night vision and spotlights that turn on when someone approaches the camera.

All in all I appreciate the information that is being provided and thank BP for it's vision in putting out so much content.   

You'll find some wonderful similarities and some vexing differences I'm sure, but with your experience and vision you're sure to be on the short path to success here.Be well!
