My wife doesn't fall for that anymore.. i've tried driving for dollars as a "date night", going to Lowes, etc.But hey not complaining, at least she lets me invest and trusts me =)Before my wife and I got married, our courtship was to spend one weekend painting her place, next weekend ripping out tiles in mine, next weekend putting in trim at hers, next weekend laying tile at mine.

Even though it’s been painted and remodeled in past 40 years, I’d be surprised if lead paint wasn’t found on property, especially all trim work - door frames, window sills, etc.

For example, in this price point, I am doing granite counters, stainless steel appliances, gutters, asphalt driveways (most cases), new cabinets, recessed lighting, new baths, new trim and doors, and the list goes on.

You could even add a few pieces of trim and a nice handle and hinges to open with locking mechanism for a pad lock.

Seal all asphalt, resurface all concrete, tuck-point masonry, patch & skim coat all stucko, bleach all siding, paint the trim and add fertilizer to make the grass greener.Establish a budget for your renewal project and keep going till you are out of budget.Good luck!
