I know the quality of the project I produce so I guess the negative press doesn't bother me because it doesn't apply to how I do things. 

I'm starting up a business providing narrated virtual tours, with the goal of making them easy (since agents are pressed for time) and affordable (since they are loathe to waste marketing dollars).

She's not pressed for cash as she too is an investor, she's primarily concerned with alleviating the burden more than receiving any $$ at this point.

I'd also be hard pressed to say that your entry level price point is pretty close to what you're looking to spend (California is a whole other animal).

I know a deal will come if I keep pressing forward, ramp up my marketing, and keep making offers!!

Maybe my short story was actually kind of long...sorry for the novel.Anyways - my point is, it's really up to you if you want to pursue it or not and I'm guessing it's unlikely your landlord wants to deal with the issue if it's relatively small money for him/her.Very unlikely you're going to get your money back unless press forward with legal action or the threat of legal action.  

@John TurnerAs a Canadian, you'll be hard pressed to find ANY lender willing to finance you on a property with such a low value, let alone 100% of it.
