Just keep in mind that there are further steps you'll want to keep to minimize the possibility that your entity is ignored for this kind of personal liability (say, if you were the person who didn't properly clear snow, or if your finances and the LLC's are comingled).And I agree with @Chris Seveney, insurance may provide adequate protection based on what's available to you.

Above just the assumption that it'd be far more of a corporate environment, I just don't think that would happen at a larger shop, at least not for quite awhile, and I do think I would generally be more at home with a smaller office of people (smaller being relative to multi-national, or coast-to-coast, I suppose).Personally speaking, do you find that you're in that type of environment with a boutique brokerage?

Foreclosures force the owner to sell because missed payments, probate forces heirs to sell a family members home, liens ultimately force a person to sell there homes to pay what they owe in tax/fines etc.
