All the various consumer laws exist specifically to stop bad actors from doing stuff like this. 

Just like how Johnson & Johnson or Coca-Cola send you quarterly dividend checks, your tenants are sending you monthly "dividends" in the form of rent.

If the US proves out to be the safest investment haven globally and sees continued capital inflows, Treasuries will likely compress / fall and investors will turn to real estate to continue to diversify.  

But, will likely put in the dishwasher next go round.
