Are we really a free people and are we really a capitalistic society? 

it is what capitalists do. 

However, as a landlord with 11 doors of property and the power/water/gas bills all in my name, it has distilled me into what I would call an "eco-capitalist".  

In our country, the rich are capitalists, and the poor are employees or the unemployed. 

If they had those genes all would be constantly fighting for territory (includes food) and the right to mate.Most of our cousins in the primate family are content to sit and watch someone else call the shots (provide jobs etc.) and tell them what to do.To think if everyone applied him/herself we would all be capitalistic billionaires is .... unrealistic just as thinking that everyone given handouts will never escape such dependency.

The us is a capitalist society.

Long story short policies and things are happening in certain areas that are pushing away strong individualistic or even capitalistic tendencies in favor of reliance on government and lack of individuality and grouping in a way that is almost communistic in nature. 

State governance is fully captured by crony capitalists and special interests leading to higher taxes and fees for no added services and massive unfunded future liabilities.

I am a capitalist and believe in a free laws based market -  i also believe we need to take care of the vulnerable.
