At this point in a presidential election both parties will probably view a compromise as weakness. 

In a community property state, a husband/wife LLC that elects to be taxed as a sole proprietor will not file  a tax return. 

Switching your rental properties to an LLC or electing S Corp status might not significantly reduce your tax burden, as both are generally pass-through entities for tax purposes.
