I prefer to buy the cheap refillable containers and then I buy jugs of soap on amazon. cleaners refill them.

With the help of JURNY I am able to instant book guests all day as I collect IDs, selfies, credit card holds and rental agreements on every stay (yes Airbnb and VRBO included)Whatsapp: I use this to communicate with my cleaners.

What I thought I'd have a really hard time with was finding cleaners, handymen, etc.

My question is: Is this house better off being rented long term for tenants or should I gravitate toward a midterm rental for possible traveling nurses or traveling professionals who want a cleaner, more up to date space, closer to downtown?

.), and you've made your House Rules clear, then don't sweat the small stuff.By that, I mean- you'll have guests who have 5-star ratings but can still leave a mess or damage (other owners didn't report accurately or it was complicated) but you have recourse via photo evidence (your cleaners, etc.) to ask for reimbursement (or use something like AirCover, etc.).

No PM, we manage at a distance with a solid cleaner and handyman. 

You hired cleaners to clean the unit between tenants?

For the minor stain, I would probably get in touch with the cleaner to confirm whether it was there before and/or to correct the issue but again your property manager should probably be doing that. 

We ALWAYS and I mean always overpay our cleaners.  

Yes to all of it.Definitely stay there a few days to find things your cleaners aren't going to notice.You need to create the 5 star experience from the beginning.
