Would like to get some tips from people who knows the Brazilian market.

I tried learning it, but at the time (in the late 80's), I could only find a Brazilian Portuguese book/tape set. 

FYI, my wife is Brazilian - so it won't be complicated to actually close on a deal.

Even with all that, we occasionally have to remind the Brazilians that it is not normal to wander around the house in shorts and T-shirts in January and we would appreciated it if they donned a sweater rather than continually bumping the thermostat temporary override to 25C.Another suggestion when renting by the room is to rent furnished rooms - this drastically mitigates damages from the frequent moving in/out of furniture.

I wanted to do something distinctly Brazilian so we imported 15 tons of Portuguese cobblestone to recreate the Copacabana boardwalk pattern on our driveways.

I guess it could be the gasket around the drain itself--- I'm going to try pouring water directly into the drain and make sure it doesn't touch the shower floor tomorrow.The drain has a curvy PVC pipe with "arm."
