To your point @Gonz Trevino I may just go a glass back door to let in plenty of light and do can lights in the kitchen.

We enacted laws here because people got tired of hearing every day about a small child drowning in a pool, where the parents' attention was diverted "for just a minute".I would say most people here with children have a 6' tall iron pool fence with self closing gates around their pool. 

If they are not meant for exiting you can replace them with glass block.

If you are, you need to drink a big glass of ****.This is real estate.

While they will probably remodel anyway you don’t wAnt them to think “tired” you want them to think “oh that’s nice for now”If you want to spend money you could do an opening glass door for the shower.
