I understand most of the basics from working with investors over the years, but still would like to approach this with a blank slate and learn from trial and error.

There's tons of information but you just have to dive in and everything is trial an error.

There is no short cut for hard work and learning by doing it by trial and error.

I'm new to forums, this is my first experience, so kind of trial by fire. 

There are "Gurus" of course, but I have learned everything so far for free and trial and error by doing such things as cold calling and D4D (Driving for Dollars).
