@Darryl LangI'm a bit bias here, but Colorado Springs is an awesome place to own a home.

The Big Island is the Best Island- True- Ok Im biased, but it does have some of the best beaches, 2 international airports, 8 Different Climates (tired of the whatever weather you have, drive 30 mins to something else) , Average Temp is 75, much of the residential housing is over 1,000 ft elevation which means no AC needed.  2 Volcanos, Thousands and Thousands of acres of farm and ranch land. 

I'm an expert in that market and obviously biased :-)I still actively invest in Detroit but also help others find off-market deals and then plug them into my network of contractors, PM's, etc.Happy to discuss.

I'm in the camp of holding for life (bias on Indiana) but we decided to sell our primary and buy another.

Ignoring this, say I am biased but I really like Alberta as we still have great affordability compared to other provinces, landlord-friendly tenancy laws, lower taxes and very strong population growth right now.

I was born and raised in Columbus (so I'm a little biased) and that would be my first choice.
