What's very odd to me in observing prices is that with the glut of houses that have been pretty well hit hard, and are not appearing to be lived in - why there is not a glut of properties on the market for sale at cheap prices. 

What other specific observations do you have about the area, or neighborhoods that are worthwhile? 

I've always been much more drawn to learning through action/observation and am finding myself getting antsy without having any application for everything I am learning. 

I completely agree with the value of boots on the ground, so I plan to invest in the part of town I already know and send an observant friend to investigate any properties that look like a great deal. 

Same goes for work / school, though what people make on their time shouldn't be your business (provided they pay).If the tenant is clearly communicating a problem (ants), given the observations above, I wouldn't be surprised if she has not received proper information on how to resolve the problem.

Hi Engelo,Thanks for the welcome :D Great to see that we share some ties for both Sydney and Hong Kong :DBased on some high-level observations why I think I'm more interested into the UK than US, but no way doubting that there are great opportunities in the US.

They may not be necessarily an innocent party, but the Investors who did not learn enough to understand what they were getting into needs to know that they were either taught incorrectly or they will never learn the truth.Instead, these Investors will continue to get burnt and cause more blight in the neighborhoods that people like Tiffany lives in.All my opinion of course, but I have been seeing this from my observations and experience of about 20 years in RE Investing.

For example, this would probably cause me to change my personal plans, and perhaps directly affect my bottom line, but I would be surprised if there are enough situations just like mine to cause noticeable sweeping changes to a market's home prices, and certainly not in the short term. just my observation.

We just had a tax auction in town earlier this summer and I went to observe, it was very interesting.
