If you buy a property with chrome or brass fixtures, you can easily change to either brushed nickel or Oil rubbed bronze with the appropriate colored metallic spray paint.

BUT it had boiler heat so no coated vents or evaporator furnace coil coated with nicotine.On another we had to literally take it back to the studs & remove the old drywall.

One of my laundries I just installed is on ground level, it was ridiculously easy to pick up a washer & dryer for <$150 and throw it in there.The fridge problem is definitely not dirty condenser coils.
