Last and most important, if the owner/listing agent is tight-lipped about rental information and if they don't allow you to see the property until you are in escrow, make sure your offer is written in such a way that you can cancel subject to inspection or other pertinent rental information.

The reason might be a number of things, past rent verification, lack of sufficient credit ( a credit score never has to cross your lips) not meeting our income standard of 4 times the rent.
