Granted, these older buildings have EMT metal conduits so the conduit connections do provide some rigidity and support, but they cannot be counted on especially these set screws could come loose.

And it's to do the following upgrade:1. install a six-pack meter box, each MAIN breaker under each unit's meter will be a 60 amp breaker, twice the power presently provided to each apartment. 300 amp copper wire pulled through conduit and connected to meter box2.install 100 amp OUTDOOR panel on the side of each unit (currently the fuses are inside the closets). 60 amp wire run through crawl space and 1"PVC conduit buried 18" deep between each unit, provide 60 amp of power to each new panel on each apartmentChris, I guess you are happy you don't live in CA!

Laundry hookups in small SFR

I am assuming your dryer has a 4" outlet. Some uses a sheet metal rectangular or oval conduit that are basically two pieces that you slide in and out to adjust for the needed "length", so something like this will work - one inlet face the inside, the outlet face the outside wall.Even small ones like this: or There are many other variations and configurations.

Appraiser saying house can not go FHA 203K .....
1 June 2015 | 9 replies
That since it is a 2-unit property ( although, the county tax records have always and still do.... show it as a single family property with a de-tached workshop )The 2nd " unit " was originally a workshop when the house was built ( back in 1945 ), but some 20 years ago, someone put a bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and washer and dryer hookups in it I don't understand why he is saying that it won't go FHA 203K, when I have seen houses in worse/ more distressed shape than the property I am trying to buy.The house does need about $25,000 in repairs ( New AC unit, roof, painted inside and out, all new flooring, appliances 0It is a cabin type house, so the wires are stapled to the wall ..... to get by this and get it up to code, can't you just wrap it in conduit ?
