I do agree in not giving away the free rent, but something like a gift card for Amazon, Dinner, a donation to a charity that means a lot to them especially this time of year.

I was lenient on giving them more time to move out and I believe they ended up in an assisted living facility, so I think in the end they ended up in a better situation.As landlords, we're not charities and we're investing our money to make more money.

(imho)...Once you have enough rentals paying for your basic necessities, your subsequent purchases can then help pay for some "fun" things you've always wanted in life...vacations, a nice watch, your dream car, extra donations to your church/charity, pay off mortgages (if you choose), or maybe you just continue to re-invest.
