I have an android and feel it will work as well as an Iphone will for business and personal use.

Why not just have your Android smart phone manage it.

You don't have to do the checking until you're thinking of renting to them so no money is spent here.Now, Google automatically uploads all your Android smartphone/tablet photos to the cloud these days.

If you're just wanting to categorize your expenses with the saved photos of your receipts, and you don't use TurboTax, then a free app like Stessa (for iPhone) or the TimelyBills App (for Android) might make more sense.  

Does anybody know of a tool (software or hardware) that could utilize photo/video from a normal camera or iPhone/android?

I don't diary miles (I should) but if I did I'd use Google Keep, an android note program that syncs with a desktop app.
