And if you are only making a small amount no too big of a hit, can hide in other write offs.Are you a RE licensee, you can save somewhat by about $25k exemption - must work in the field 750 hours per year1031 exchange should be over 2 years to be safe, at least 14 months to get 2 years on the calendar record ie: Dec 2018 to Jan 2020You need to hold for 2 years as owner occupied to eliminate the tax up to $500k for married couples

I have little to add, except a spin on this from a Pittsburgh perspective, the city with the oldest housing stock in America.The older the property is, the more likely a fully-renovated/flipped property is likely to be hiding some kind of major flaw under its new interior/exterior.
