If you don't have an attorney to bounce this off of, maybe you could call the Realtor association in your area and ask to speak with someone about this.

It was a similar phone call, but this time he said he would sell immediately, before I even asked.The key is to be polite and have a few scenarios in your head before you call, and don't feel like it all has to happen with just the one call.I should add that a title company can be a big help, once they get to know you you can call them and bounce an idea off to see how to proceed.Best of luck to you, sounds like a deal.

So to reduce the tax to her I would look at making sure that taking the distrubution does not bounce her into the next higher tax bracket, maybe taking some out now before the end of 2016 and then taking some in 2017 could do that I don't know for  sure you would need to have a tax advisor take a closer look.
