Not looking for free handouts, just advice or pointers.

Self Advertising: Business Cards, Social Media Posts, Mailing post card styled ad to renters/people looking to buy, and mailing hand written notes to past clients.Business Cards: Hand out after conversations, put out in local stores/restaurants (after receiving permission) and put in all flyers/ads/notes mailed.Social Media Posts: Put out helpful information and use colorful images/texts to get peoples attention.Mailing Post Card Style Ads: Will advertise that you're willing to help new clients.

I know a lot of places have solicitation rules, and restrictions on passing out literature of any sort on their property.Offline my community seems pretty small, and I'd rather NOT do business with friends, because it's human nature to involve emotions and expect discounts/handouts and such (I've seen this especially with artists - people abuse their talented friend's good deeds).Any suggestions?

Very good Steve, when I had time in the past I would attend those free seminars and make a fool of them, then stand outside when he was done and hand out my cards...bet I picked up more clients than they did!

Instead, it's more like "it's the 1st of the month, where's my handout?"

For example, when a tenant tells me "I'm looking for a job", that translates to me as "I don't have a job and don't intend to get one as long as the taxpayer will give me a handout."

I suspect that's VERY GOOD NEWS for landlords (if you can stand the smell of taking a government handout).
