I would like the conversation to steer away from identifying which or whose course you took but rather deal more with the actual substance of the course.  

Substance over form.Maybe it's interpreted that you're renting a room in your primary residence to your girlfriend. 

I assume you smoked in the bathroom because you knew it wasn't allowed (no matter the substance).

It's certainly not standard practice and there's no telling if it would pass the substance over form test.
