The tragedy has raised a number of questions (in my head) about liability as a commercial property owner, and as a leasee, particularly given the laundry list of complaints and citations against both of those parties (whose names have now been publicized).

I was thinking of three violations I was meaning 3 different citations.

These complaints were all filed mid-afternoon and no citation was ever issued.

Be aware that if you see advice of the local building department they may issue a citation and demand the conversion be removed.

I can't/don't run around throwing out code sections and Tax Court case citations. 

I wanted to get in and start doing things like solving issues which were causing the city to issue citations and putting liens on the property.I intend to put it under contract for minimal amount and go from there. 

I know another that the cops baited to get him to go to a meeting where they issued a citation.

@David Battle Do you have any legal citation for your statement that double closings are illegal?  

So if you did opt to put up signs during a Saturday afternoon you wouldn't have to worry about the "sign police" giving you a citation.
