I'm not a lawyer, but my understanding is that if she has deferred adjudication, then she doesn't actually have a felony on her record - she has an arrest, but no conviction.

Think of it this way, if I tell someone I'm going to break their arm and they say sure, then I break their arm, I'm still assaulting that person, I still get arrested!
