Visitors come to Mexico from all over the world so the tourism industry isn't dependent on what's happening in any single country.

Good morning Sandhya,I have been a part of NARPM for many years and Highly recommend joining the group if you plan on becoming an expert in the Property Management industry. 

I guess tourism is an important enough industry there that while they need to limit the short term rentals for local residents, they also need them to provide lower price points for visitors. 

The MTR industry has bit of a pull back but if you are priced well and your tenants are not putting much out for a SD than maybe look at the property features then.

I have private money family friend who wants to fund multiple investments and since I come from the construction industry they are confident in my ability to rehab properties.

These areas offer a mix of renovated bungalows, new construction, and industrial conversions, with increased demand from young professionals.

Some of us in the industry are fighting to help with that for the limited partner, and hopefully that comes to fruition in the near future.  

In real estate (and probably other industries) this is referred to as a Single Purpose Entity, and it's usually a smart move.
