I grew up blue collar and my dad was a contractor, so I'm very much a DIY guy and think I can reasonably handle property management. 

It is like worrying that your stock portfolio only grew by 1% or lost 5% and now you want to cash it out. 

I grew up just north of San Francisco and decided to move out to Reno, NV to live and invest. 

I agree with all you said, especially keeping legacy contributors with no angle like yourself and Jay engaged.Like @Don Konipol , I also grew fatigued at answering the same form of questions over and over.

I grew up in Lehigh & the growth is incredible. 

Although many have figured it out...I then grew it once I had the Realtors license and could manage other properties as this is required in my state. 

I grew up there and have done much better investing in central Virginia. 

But I'm raising my 4 kids in this home with my wife, grew up in the area, want to see it do well - so I will continue to call the police on things I see there...which most likely will result in the landlord having an ongoing slough of tenants in and out.

I've been interested in New Haven because theres a bit both B and C-D neighborhood. there are some ghetto parts which like I said I'm fine with I grew up in some rough parts of NYC mid 90's I know how to handle my self in these area. and as long as I'm thorough and diligent with my screening/vetting process in tenant selection, I should be able to find decent people to make my tenants. there is huge working class in New Haven and its seeing slow stead growth. 

I agree, but I have boots on the ground there (family) and that's where I grew up.
