Families with small kids are very unlikely to buy these homes.Of course, antiques definitely had knob & tube wiring at some point. 

@Felix TorresHi Felix,What everyone else said, plus it's intelligent to have a full property inspection done before you buy to find things like Stab-Loc breakers, Polybutylene Piping, three layers of shingles, antiquated heating system, etc...That way you're less likely to get blindsided by things that need correction vs things that need improvement.Good Luck!

Most are antiquated systems based on old operating systems too.

It's kind of like trying to make a living buying and selling antiques or bidding on unit inventory at storage auctions.

World Market has been useful as well -- great deals on dining furniture when they're having their sales.We also did some consignment shops, and other sources such as on-line, antique shows, etc. 

Just not much there in terms of business (unless you are into antiques shops) I'd do Kilgore in rentals before I'd do Gladewater just to test the waters. 

They are when the Grandma or Grandpa dies and the family lives in Seattle and they don't have time to come to Tampa to get rid of all the antiques and possessions and the properties.

Current construction practices are very antiquated. 

Carpet over plywood subfloor, on the other hand, could have some real damage if a pet repeatedly urinates on the floor...antique hardwood floors can get really scratched by a large, active dog....antique single pane glass windows could easily be broken by a large dog...
