@Patrick PhilipIt's as obvious as many initially think.While we fix-and-hold as opposed to flipping, the renovation part is the same.When possible (ie. following a full gut), we paint before installing finish flooring cabinets and trim - much easier and, you should paint - or at lease prime and seal - the drywall behind your cabinets.

If one is using hardwood trim and the other is using pine trim that will reflect in the estimate and will create a skewed comparison.

It's called an unskilled laborer- unpacking and setting up the tools, moving the lumber, setting up the jobsite with tarps, running and getting coffee, running to Home Depot for that piece of trim that just broke, etc.

For example, the $1500 for painting would get me a 3-color paint scheme in Atlanta (ceiling, walls, trim)...for this house, I'm expecting a 2-color paint scheme (ceiling/walls and trim).I'm guessing that labor prices here are about 20% more than Atlanta, but I haven't verified that yet.
