Of course it's a matter of "if" and not "when," and everyone's strategy should take economic downturns into account, but to hope for an event that's going to financially ruin millions of individuals for your own financial gain, which is the original situation posed in the thread, is a pretty craptastic thing to do.  

Also a popular investment right now is in a community called Angeline nearby, it's going to have a lagoon, school, as well as a Moffit Cancer center. 

If I am to loan friends or family money, I mentally consider it a gift and if they give it back, great, if not I just don't loan again but wouldn't want to ruin a relationship over it.

Not only I don't have that kind of money (Covid ruined us), but I am also dealing with major health issues (chronic cancer) that require expenses. 

Do you suppose the former owner will say he never realized his credit would be ruined if you defaulted?

As for "why" high radon levels lead to an increased chance of cancer (especially in kids) and is likely a detriment to health for other reasons.
