Unless the water piping splits at the meter and the wiring is already separated with two panels it could be very expensive to split.But maybe you'll get lucky.

I'd imagine it wouldn't be extremely difficult to seperate the wiring, relocate the panel and add a meter to the apartment (the basement is one large basement divided between two units).I'm wondering if anyone has ever added an electric meter to a house?

They came out and measured then ordered a new low-e dual pane panel and l ater came out to the house and replaced it in like 15-20 minutes.

The roof is 12:12 (except for an 8:12 dormer on which we put solar panels) and we have 2" insulation board as part of the roof deck, and closed cell foam on the inside (the rafters are only 2x4, so we needed to go outside to get the R value).
