Time spent as an investor or in activities not customarily done by an owner does not count towards the 500 hours.One thing to note is that if you are married, you can combine hours with your spouse's to meet this threshold.

Analyze the WHY behind your current investors reasoning for not partnering up with you.

When you say "we," are you speaking about your business or your personal tax returns, or does your business flow into your personal returns because you file as a sole proprietor?  

The property I am on they are trying to avoid foreclosure by turning it over to a rescue fund and diluting investor's money.

The investors can get back to whole, it’ll just take time.
