Take away all of the “big stuff” like plumbing, electric, HVAC, roof, etc. and there are still plenty of 70’s buildings out there with original kitchens, groovy faux wood paneling, popcorn ceilings, really small closets, etc.

Yes.. you need to do some analysis and ask yourself, does the immediate tax deferral, long term tax advantages, choice of investment, portability/mobility, liquidity of the platform warrant a steam of money going into your 401K. 

Either store it on a different computer or better yet on a portable USB disk.

If I get the house for 55k I am essentially paying 30k for the loan (about 1 month) and the rehab:1) siding2) roof3) 11 double-hung windows, 4 glassblock windows4) clean yard5) repair fence6) replace attic windows with vents7) replace garage door8 ) install lattice around porch9) troubleshoot plumbing/electric, make all minor repairs10) LR-patch/paint, new carpet11) DR-patch/paint, restore hardwood floor12) Kit-drywall ceiling, replace countertop and backsplash, install vinyl floor, install new door to basement13) Hall-install new thermostat, patch/paint walls, new closet door14) Bath-???

lolSeems like every politician has some skeletons in the closet or some hidden agenda.Joshua is right that it is important to research and learn about the individuals to know the facts instead of just taking commercials at face value or deciding to vote for someone because someone famous has endorsed the candidate.

Funny how banks will finance a portable $40k 'asset' that drives away and depreciates like crazy in a heartbeat, but not a house.  

I would design some kind of ramp, either a permanent concrete slope on the ground that butts up next to the storage containers or a more portable ramp that can be moved from container to container.
