Rich, I am the same with my gold; It is physical, I can hold it, and I am not selling.Silver is more a speculative play based on the fundamentals; I got lucky and did not buy in the 90s when it was dead or I would prob have been turned off...I think paper gold and paper silver are just for speculating.

I understand your point of view there, especially with the idea of learning from the history of the world - because we've all seen history repeat itself if almost everything - but the one part I would disagree with you on is the fact that there exists very important and fundamental differences between our goverment and the government that Saddam ran in Iraq.

The overall supply and demand fundamentals seem to not let that happen historically.Since 2000 the top 3 Cali areas for appreciation are LA 138%, SF 116% and SD 115%.
