Just for discussion purposes.I picked this pic off the internet.It looks like a lot of "Hoarder Houses" decor style.Busy carpet, busy furniture, paneling, faux rocks on the walls, flat paint.I can smell the cigarette smoke just looking at the picture.But I wonder if you owned this place, as either a flip or a rental, or AirBnB, would you rip everything out and paint it all grey and modern.Or do you think pic 2 is acceptable and cheap (quick) way to do it.Tear it out to the studs, or just light cosmetic changes, or something completely different?

Who or how do you decorate your STR from thousand of miles away?

Fantastic job at presenting a "normal" house in a very attractive way, with paint, lighting, decorations, and REALLY good photos.  

I always put up curtain rods, and point people to where they can buy curtains that match their decor. 

So my plan has to change, instead of renovate and get professional photos done to list on Vrbo, I will have to make do with some new decor and try to rent out at a lower rate, then renovate in off season--April/May or Sept/October and offcially list then.

Avoid bold colors and political or religious decorations that could offend someone.
