I haven't done STR on my property, but plan on it later in the year.

I have a client in town this July 4th weekend staying at an STR on the Oregon Coast and they have a large family, and a large bill, $1400/night for four nights. 

I cover the emerald coast (gulf breeze to Panama City beach) We specialize in flipping/rehabbing, building and str on the emerald coast.

Look at Oregon for example I surprised more buyers have not flocked to the Oregon coast to buy up all of the coastal properties now for sale.The STR on these properties are through the roof and the sales prices are a fraction of the cost compared to California.

Am I allowed to make tax deductions on both - 1) Mortgage Interest, and 2) Offset my passive income with STR (only on the 2/3 of the property)?
