Yes, most large traditional lenders only focus on 1-4 units and other properties that fit into a box. 

If you are planning on living there (ie in 1 unit) then you are house-hacking and this is a different calculation consideration then renting out both units and making it a true investment.

@Sathya Priya Sampathkumar I’m currently renovating 2 units that are 35 minutes away from me.

If it's just a two-family, or really with any amount of units, I would send the same notice to all parties so it's clear that it is addressed to everyone (even though it's because of one tenant).

@Chris Clarkson, having a partner can complicate things for sure if you're not united on direction.

I considered adding a universal gym but will go with billiards and foosball instead.There are more spas in this STR market than EV chargers ((only 5 or 6 units have a EV charger), yet it is about 200 miles from the nearest large metro (too far for most EV to go without a recharge).  

It's basically a legal 2-unit that can cashflow $900/month.

Else, move to a smaller unit or take in an extra roommate.
