I am currently serving active duty in the Navy and am interested in getting started with big and hold real estate investing.

For background, I am in the Navy and will be a "geo-bachelor" living in a different city than my wife for 2 years.

I used Navy Federal for my first go around and had $38k in closing costs...for a condo. 

I was doing some searching of my own to dig more into this and saw that they listed 4 units could be up to $1,472,500, but that there was no limit for single family homes with the new blue water navy act.

(I'm renting out the 2nd bedroom, so I can pull in at least a little income while house hacking) I realized I'm alot more handy than I give myself credit for (I'm a Jet Engine Mechanic in the Navy), no wife/kids, so doing most of the work myself.I would love to get in contact with people that use house hacking as a primary way of creating rental properties for themselves!

We primarily invest and manage around SECT (Groton, New London, Mystic), we have a few large employers as well as the Navy here so we don't see a decrease in demand for some time.
