On the other hand, we didn't have a recession here until the press started screaming about doom and gloom, and people looked around and decided they should be more cautious and stop spending.Recession is simply money not circulating.

I was just cautious and attentive to my surroundings and didn't put myself in dangerous situations. 

If its just a small one and suddenly everyone jumps on I'd be cautious

But at the same time, a long time horizon more or less takes out some of the concern as to whether today or tomorrow is a good time to buy.Seems to me its prudent to be cautious on whether to buy, but at the same time I dont see any reason to stop all together because you are worried about a correction.

First time landlord and pretty cautious about any denial of the other application appearing to be discrimination but this seems clear cut.
