Yep, it's a private club and you can't just get in without drinking their kool-aid.

I think I can sum this up.. you can lead a horse to water but you cant make them drink..

I used to live off a small income and was able to save a good portion of my income because of living frugal and not frivolously spending (not much eating out, no shopping, no drinking, etc.).

In that 10 year time span you could be scaling back on engineering while making $$$ and scaling up on investing, before you know it youll be a full time investor sipping drinks on the beach.
