Just wondering if there are recommended US real estate books for Canadians to read.  

One was a vitamin business that just sold to a company on the Canadian Exchange.

@Raju T.Depending upon where in the U.S.A. you plan to invest and which lender/bank you approach, you may be able to use your Canadian credit rating and income tax notice of assessment:If you bank with a U.S.A. subsidiary of a Canadian bank (TD, BMO/Harris, RBC), they have programs to enable Canadians to borrow in the U.S.A. to purchase real estate.  

He found his very first investment property.He got a duplex that also had a servants house in the backyard in a very nice city (royal oak) north of Detroit.

I will try to finance this but getting a mortgage as a Canadian won't be easy.

As a new investor, you should assemble a team of experts to help you, such as CPA, Attorney, Realtor, General Contractor, HVAC, Plumber, etc.I can't tell you how many times I seen people "do it yourself" and screw themselves royally.
