Hardwood through out carpet?

Maybe I've been watching too much HGTV but I would like to remodel the kitchen, bathrooms, and put in hardwood (engineered) floors and new appliances.  

I remember walking through and the image of the DAO ( Dead *** Owner ) was still in the hardwoods from the stuff that flows out.

Two story entrance way, vaulted great room with fireplace, hardwood floors, throughout living areas and hallway.

Work needed: new garage door, paint throughout, exterior is fine, new drywall (40sqft), light fixtures, hardwood flooring (1 room, approx 198 sqft), new bath floor tile + vanity + bath/shower combo, landscaping. 

He told me there was hardwood on the floors and he really didn't want to talk much further.  

We had put a great deal of time, money and energy into installing hardwood floors, ceramic tile, built-in cabinets by the fireplace and a kitchen remodel that took 3 months to complete.

I also have been in the hardwood flooring business for more than 15 years but had to close shop after the crash.Since then, i returned to school and earned a degree in computer networking and never used the degree due to a promotion that provided me with more income.
