If the deal goes south and you have next to zero money in the deal, selling a short sale or walking isn't as risky for you since you aren't losing much.

Some car companies don't allow transfers of their cars shortly after they are released.

Consider different strategies like mid and short term rentals as I believe the Portland area would allow for success in both (although I have heard Portland proper is tough on STRs).Best of luck!

Yep, when we sign up for servicing as a company they ask you "what loss mitigation measures does your company allow" We offer loan mods, forbearance, deed in lieu, short sales and short payoffs.
